HTTPort

How to set up HTTPort for use with e-mail client (Outlook, Messenger, Pegasus, The BAT!, etc.)?

For this you need set up HTTPort for use with e-mail client (Outlook, Messenger, Pegasus, The BAT!, etc.). You should have an account on an external mail server, which provides POP3/SMTP services.
Ex: I use account on yahoo.com. I will explain the setup with Yahoo account. Yahoo provides POP3/SMTP services by means of two servers: pop.mail.yahoo.com:110 and smtp.mail.yahoo.com:25 respectively.
Create two HTTPort mappings. These should mirror local ports 9110 and 9025 (or any other ports you like), to remote ports pop.mail.yahoo.com:110 and smtp.mail.yahoo.com:25. Set up your mail client to use server 127.0.0.1:9110 as a POP3 server, and 127.0.0.1:9025 as an SMTP server. This should work.

How to set up HTTPort for use with web browser to surf anonymously?

You need to point your browser to 127.0.0.1:3128 as a proxy.
HTTPort goes with the predefined mapping "External HTTP proxy" of local port 3128 to nothing. Yes, that's correct. TO NOTHING. This is a sample only mapping, you may see this by examining it's remote server address. You must edit this mapping before you can use it.
Here is what you should do:
  1. Find the working proxy list;
  2. Pick one proxy from the list;
  3. Edit the "Public external HTTP proxy" mapping in HTTPort and set it's remote host and port to the host and port of the proxy you've picked.
    Now, having your browser set up to 127.0.0.1:3128, you are surfing through that external proxy.

How to set up HTTPort for use with IRC?

First, choose one IRC server from your IRC client's list. Let it be "irc.supermegawondernet.com:6667". Create a new HTTPort mapping, set "Local port" to "6667", "Remote server" to "irc.supermegawondernet.com" and "Remote port" to "6667". Now run your IRC client and add a new server to the list with host of 127.0.0.1 and port of 6667.
As an alternative solution, you may set up your IRC client to use SOCKS4 server at 127.0.0.1:1080 if it allows that.

HTTPort creates a transparent tunnel through a proxy server or firewall. This allows you to use all sorts of Internet program from behind the proxy. It bypasses HTTPS and HTTP proxies, transparent accelerators, and firewalls. It has a built-in SOCKS4 server. It supports powerful traffic encryption, which makes proxy logging useless, and supports NTLM and other authentication schemes. Version 3.SN features privileged status and faster access for registered users.
At first you can set the proxy settings or firewall, and also indicate what the workaround should be used. Fastest - via SSL, it is no longer required, but does not work on all proxies.
Second, "Remote host", uses in its work to the server, created the software HTTHost (your own or public, which enthusiasts have created the Internet), and it must be on the other side of the firewall / proxy. But is there any way to workaround?
The theory is to make a data tunnel through the password protected proxy, so we can map external website to local port, and federate the search result. There're some applications which can do the job, but here we will use HTTPort as an example.
Here're the steps!
1. Get a copy of HTTPort from www.htthost.com, the newest version is HTTPort 3.SNFM. Install it.
2. In proxy configuration window, fill in your proxy server name and port, check "Proxy requires authentication" and then input your username and password for accessing this proxy.
3. Check the RSS feed website domain name you want to federate.
4. Click Port mapping tab of HTTPort, and add a new port tunnel. Fill in a local port, for example, 991, then fill in remote host name and port.
5. Switch back to proxy tab. press start button in lower right corner.
6. Check if it works in your browser: replace domain name of your RSS feed with 127.0.0.1:991. If everything is going on well, and you are lucky enough, the RSS feed will be there and you can make Search Server federate it through this new local URL!
7. Just some note: Not every service can be federated like this. If the target website has more security check, for example Yahoo search, the RSS feed cannot be fetched through such tunnel.

Configuring HTTPort

HTTPort bypasses http proxies that block access to the internet on your computer. You can find more information about HTTPort at http://www.htthost.com.
Below you will find step-by-step instructions on how to install and configure the software so you can use WMKeeper on your computer.
  1. Install and start HTTPort. 
  2. In the Proxy tab configure the server settings:
    • Host name or IP address - name or address of your proxy server;
    • Port: - proxy server port;
    The other settings depend on your proxy server. If you are unsure which settings to enter, please leave the defaults. Example below.



  3. Add a new account in the Port mapping tab with the following settings:
    • name - WebMoney;
    • Local port- 2802;
    • Remote host - wmsc.webmoney.ru;
    • Remote port - 2802.
    Example below.

     

  4. Switch to the Proxy tab and click "Start".
  5. In the System tab make sure there are no errors in the «Errors (quote this when bug reporting)» field. If there is an error, read the FAQ page on the developer’s site. It provides solutions to the most common errors. You can find the page in the About tab.
  6. Make changes to the "hosts" file. It is located in System32/drivers/etc folder in Windows NT/2000 and in the system root folder in Windows9x. In Windows9x there may only be hosts.sam instead of the hosts file. In this case create a hosts file and copy the contents of hosts.sam into it. At the end of the hosts file add a new line: 127.0.0.1 wmsc.webmoney.ru.

  6. 以下都是个人愚见,错误之处还请批评指正:

    HTTPort和CCProxy都具有二级代理的功能,但是他们的二级代理的用途是不一样的:
    HTTPort使用总结:
    HTTPort软件用作本身已经使用了代理上网,如下图1所示,但是为了访问国外的某些受限资源,还必须使用国外的代理服务器,这样HTTPort就是理想的选择。

    其使用方法如下:
       下图2是是HTTPort的运行界面,我们主要使用的是Proxy和Port mapping这两个选项卡

    Proxy选项卡:HTTP proxy to bypass下的IP地址和端口号系统可以自动检测出来,也可以手动设置,就是我们所使用的代理服务器,,其它保持默认状态。
    Port mapping选项卡:如下图3所示:

    在port mapping(端口映射)中选中external http proxy(外部http代理服务器)点击展开子项。
    在local host(本机)中填入3128(可以改,只要是没有被其它程序占用的),在remote host(你要用的代理)中填入搜索到的免费出国代理如:118.98.160.102,remote port中填入远程代理服务器的端口号,如8080,下面是搜索到的国外的免费代理服务器,如下图4所示:

    设置ie浏览器:
    在IE选项\连接\局域网设置\代理服务器地址添入127.0.0.1,端口3128(与刚才指定的local host本机端口一致),如下图1所示
    运行HTTPort软件
    工 作流程设置完后,启动HTTPORT点proxy图中的“start”按钮,本地端口就开始工作了。你通过本机的IE浏览国外网址,IE把请求通过 3128端口发给“当前代理”(本机127.0.0.1的3128),HTTPORT把3128与远方免费代理的8080做了一个映射连接,这个连接穿过 了局域网上的代理服务器,你的浏览请求被发给了远方代理:8080。
    在port mapping图中的LEDs项有四个指示灯(图6)。在有数据传送的时候会红/绿闪烁,每一个灯表示一个映射:第一个方形的、有着粗边框的灯对应着 HTTPORT内置的socks服务器,蓝/黄闪烁表述数据传送。下面圆形的灯表示现在的代理状态,是独占的“Remote host”,绿色表示所有的请求都成功的通过了代理服务器,红色表示有一些请求没有成功并且正在重试并且持续30秒红灯的状态。

    现在就可以通过二级代理服务器上网了。
    CCProxy二级代理使用总结:
    假设:局域网中一计算机(192.168.0.3)通过服务器(192.168.0.1)共享上网.
    其他计算机(诸如:192.168.0.4等无法通过服务器192.168.0.1)共享上网,现在让我们通过CCProxy二级代理的功能实现上网需求.
    1.在计算机192.168.0.3上安装软件CCProxy;
    2.安装完毕后,点击"设置"----"高级"----"二级代理",填入服务器的IP地址和开放的协议以及端口号(我们假设服务器开放socks协议和1080端口,设置见如下图),并选择"确定"

    3.设置计算机192.168.0.4的网络属性.把计算机192.168.0.4的网关和DNS均指向192.168.0.3(如下图).

    4.接下来,在计算机192.168.0.4的internet属性里设置代理就可以通过二级代理上网了,设置如下:
    IE浏览器->菜单"工具"->"Internet选项"->"连接"->"局域网设置"->选中"使用代理服务器"->"高级"->"代理服务器设置"。

    HTTPort allows you to bypass your HTTP proxy, which is blocking you from the Internet. With HTTPort you may use various Internet software from behind the proxy, ex. e-mail, instant messengers, P2P file sharing, ICQ, News, FTP, IRC, etc.
    The basic idea is that you set up your Internet software in such a manner, that it connects to your own local PC as if it was the remote server it needed. HTTPort then intercepts that connection and runs it through a tunnel through the proxy.

    HTTPort doesn't really care for the proxy as such, it works perfectly with firewalls, transparent accelerators, NATs and basically anything that lets HTTP protocol through. HTTP is the basis for web surfing, so if you can freely surf the web from where you are, HTTPort will bring you the rest of the Internet applications.

    HTTPort performs tunneling using one of two modes. The following schemes will give you the idea.


    SSL/CONNECT mode Remote host mode
    In SSL/CONNECT mode HTTPort can make a tunnel through a proxy all by itself. It requires that the proxy supports a certain HTTP feature, specifically CONNECT HTTP method. Most of the proxies have this method disabled by default, and administrators don't readily enable it, so if you find that this tunneling mode works for you, you must be lucky. SSL/CONNECT mode much faster, but encryption can't be used in this mode and your proxy tracks all your actions easily.
    Remote host method is much more capable for tunneling through just about any proxy. In this mode HTTPort uses a special server software called HTTHost installed somewhere outside of your proxy-blocked network. HTTHost is basically a web server with a twist. When HTTPort is doing tunneling, it sends series of HTTP requests to the HTTHost. The proxy sees it af if you were surfing to some web site, and consciously allows you to. HTTHost in turn performs it's half of tunneling and talks to the target servers. This mode is much slower, but works in most cases, and it features strong data encryption which makes proxy logging useless.
