Donate via the National Bank of Ukraine

The best way to financially support Ukraine is by donating directly to one of the special accounts opened by the National Bank of Ukraine. These funds will be used to finance local humanitarian relief, as well as Ukraine's Armed Forces.

• 💵 Donate to the military — funds used to buy equipment, ammunition, vehicles, etc. for frontline soldiers.
• 💵 Donate to the humanitarian campaign — funds used to provide relief to civilians endangered by the war.

Donate to Non-Government Organizations

⚠️ Refrain from sending money to any crypto wallets, except those found on official charity websites.
⚠️ DO NOT donate to Red Cross International, donate to Ukrainian Red Cross instead.

Below is a list of non-profits that currently operate in Ukraine. Please opt-in for a monthly payment, if possible.

  • Add banners to your OSS projects and profiles. See examples.
  • Protest against the war in your city.
  • Demand severe sanctions against Russia and support for Ukraine from your leaders.
  • Reach out to Ukrainian friends, offer help.
• ❌ Boycott Russian businesses:
  • Cancel subscriptions and stop giving your money to Russian companies.
  • Get rid of Russian software, dependencies and infrastructure.
  • Suffocate Russian economy to limit its ability to fund the war!

  • Educate yourself and others on the Russian threat, read reputable news.

Crystal is a programming language with the following goals:

• Have a syntax similar to Ruby (but compatibility with it is not a goal)
• Statically type-checked but without having to specify the type of variables or method arguments.
• Be able to call C code by writing bindings to it in Crystal.
• Have compile-time evaluation and generation of code, to avoid boilerplate code.
• Compile to efficient native code.

Why?

We love Ruby's efficiency for writing code.

We love C's efficiency for running code.

We want the best of both worlds.

We want the compiler to understand what we mean without having to specify types everywhere.

We want full OOP.

Oh, and we don't want to write C code to make the code run faster.

Status

• The project is in alpha stage: we are still tweaking the language and standard library.
• The compiler is written in Crystal.
